The mountain was higher than I thought.

My last post here was some time ago, but behind the scenes I’ve been working hard to polish up the manuscript for book number one.

My initial estimate of three or four drafts has now ballooned to around seven—but this was absolutely needed. I’ve learnt much along the way, and from what I’ve gathered it’s not at all unusual for novels to go through so many drafts.

While I’ve still got a bit to do, the finish line is now in sight.

Hopefully, all going well, I’ll be in a position to submit to publishers this year (and if there are no takers, I’m fully prepared to self-publish).

In the meantime, you’ll start seeing some more regular updates on the website, as well as some short stories and other content as well.
